What we do:

Business & Real Estate Litigation

Successful litigation.

Clients hire us to litigate cases involving real estate and other business contract disputes, whether in state court, federal court, arbitration, or even US bankruptcy court (where we have experience protecting lien rights and claimant priorities against debtors). We have successfully litigated disputes over lien rights, property boundaries, eminent domain, indemnification, and interference with contract.

Our real estate expertise also includes litigation related to water rights and property encumbrances, as well as real estate issues arising out of construction and relating to neighboring property subsidence and trespass issues. We have also represented property owner clients against municipalities and attempted enforcement of improper zoning restrictions.

Representative Matters

Our attorneys successfully defended a major real estate developer against claims under California’s “Proposition 65” for alleged exposure to naturally occurring asbestos arising from civil construction work on a former military base.

We successfully represented a developer in a series of lawsuits to obtain indemnity for environmental issues arising from the redevelopment of a former military shipyard.

We defended a landowner against eminent domain claims by a municipality involving commercial properties.

Our attorneys defended a landowner and developer in a claim for trespass, nuisance, and injury allegedly caused by fugitive construction dust and debris.

We advised a contractor in a dispute over telecommunication networks, including the construction of substations and the installation of underground conduit on public property.
