Michael has experience in all aspects of civil litigation, from the pleading stage, through law and motion and discovery, to trial and arbitration. In his practice, Michael primarily represents contractors and subcontractors seeking to be paid for work performed. This is typically done through the recording of a mechanic’s lien and filing suit to foreclose on the lien, a process Michael has undertaken many times.
Michael also has experience litigating time and disruption claims on behalf of contractors and subcontractors. Most recently, Michael helped secure multi-million dollar awards for a general contractor in an arbitration involving a complex water treatment facility, and a union electrical subcontractor for work performed on a residential high rise. Michael has also represented owners, universities, public utilities, and EPC contractors.
Michael’s experience additionally includes land use and real estate, having represented residential homeowners in construction defect and easement disputes.
